Couples don’t ignore pricing.
You send the proposal. They open it. They review it. They pause.
And it’s not because they didn’t see your pricing or your consult was not great.
It’s a decision problem.
In Vowlinked, they already saw your services, price ranges, and FAQs.
By the time they contacted, they have already pre-qualified - YOU.
So when they pause after pricing— It’s not an information problem.
I call this: The Pricing Delay Gap
The space between: pricing seen → decision made
Why This Happens (Even When Pricing Is Clear)
There are two reasons.
1. Clarity Friction
Even with visible pricing available the deciding on "best options" with competitions
2. Expectation Shock
This is the part most vendors underestimate. Couples come in with a number in mind. Then they see real pricing based on 'their specifics services details and counts' and pause. Now they have to rethink.
What This Looks Like
-
“we’ll review and get back to you”
-
delayed replies
-
silence after viewing proposal
-
continued vendor comparisons
This is not rejection. It’s hesitation.
But What About Proposal Expiration?
I sent it days ago, Vowlinked proposals include a 7-day expiration. So the question is:
Should vendors still follow up?
-
Yes. But not the way most vendors do. Try 'smart follow-up'
Why Expiration Alone Isn’t Enough
-
Expiration creates urgency. But urgency without clarity creates hesitation.
Because deciding is the hard part. So follow-up should not feel like chasing. It should feel like guiding the decision.
What Smart Follow-Up Looks Like
Mid-Window (Day 2–3)
Support the decision:
“Most couples at this stage are deciding between X and Y — happy to help you think through what fits best.”
Pre-Expiration (Day 5–6)
Reinforce urgency + flexibility:
“Just a heads up your proposal expires soon — let me know if you want me to hold your date or adjust anything.”
Expiration Day
Keep the door open:
“Today’s the last day to secure your date. If you’re still deciding, I can extend or adjust based on what you need.”
If you guide that moment… You earn the booking.
